Established in 2000, SME Web Design has earned an excellent reputation for developing, hosting and supporting business and educational establishment websites. Our registration on the National Register of Consultants along with our track record has resulted in Business Link advisors from both Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire recommending us to local businesses.

We work hard to maintain the high standard and scope of our expertise and services so that we can offer clients total solutions of lasting value that are devoid of weaknesses and omissions. We are dedicated to serving our clients to the best of our ability at all times and will go to extra lengths, when necessary, to ensure customer satisfaction.

We have developed a number of website solutions which we have identified as having significant appeal and market potential. These include our Primary School Website (version 2) and website for owners of holiday villas for rent. In both cases these advanced websites can be purchased on highly competetive terms and then customised to the client’s school or property respectively.

We are a small family run business. All projects are undertaken by myself, David Abell, with administrative support from my wife Gillian. My experience and qualifications in web design, databases, e-commerce, and general IT enables us to offer existing and prospective clients sound honest advice as well as the assurance of delivering a solution that meets their needs and expectations. Our inclusion on the National Register of Consultants, used by Business Link, has benefited many of our clients in helping them qualify for grants towards the cost of developing their website or upgrading to carry out e-commerce.

The services and solutions we offer are comparable to those provided by more expensive design houses that employ a team of specialists. We believe that being solely responsible for projects has distinct advantages, not least in helping avoid breakdowns in communication. In the event that a highly specialised requirement forms part of a project, this will be researched and carried out directly, or contracted out to a specialist. Maintaining a high standard being the overriding factor in determining how to proceed.

Our existing clients are testament to our success in being able to serve a diverse range of businesses and organisations. An important component of our success can be attributed to our approach, which is adopted on every project, no matter how large or small. By following tried and tested procedures, which involve taking time, at the onset, to thoroughly analyse with the client their key objectives, we can design solutions that work! We believe that a prerequisite to a successful project is that we understand the clients business and that the client understands the technical possibilities open to them. The field we specialise in is evolving at a rapid rate, which is why we make a point of staying up-to-date with our knowledge, software, services, and systems. The vast majority of our clients have their websites hosted and supported with us and utilise our services for on-going development. This helps us keep our clients up-to-date with possibilities afforded by new technology. As new opportunities arise we communicate these by email and in review meetings.
